Visitors

Life for us has been uneventful lately- I am just busy working and Brad has been looking for some temporary work. To break up the boring- we had some visitors come stay with us. Brad's brother Nate and his wife Kate stopped by for a few days on their way home from Boston. They went into the city everyday and saw more of it then we have! We spent one day in the city with them and walked the Magnificent Mile and went on a Boat tour. It was a blast. It was a lot of fun to have company!!!

Callister Family Reunion

The 2009 reunion was in Merced this year. It was tons of fun! The theme was "We're all in this together." And yes- we all learned the words and dance to the High School Musical song. We went tot eh cabin in Twain Harte, took a bus to the beach, went canoeing on Yosemite Lake, and swam in the pool. I was there the whole time, but unfortunately Brad stayed home and studied for the CPA exam. We actually found out yesterday that he passed the first 3 with awesome scores!!! Now we just have to wait another month to find out about the 4th- Way to go Brad!
Here are some random pictures from the reunion.

My Best Friend's Wedding

The second week in July, I took a trip back to California for two special events. First, was my best friend from high school, Leslie's wedding. She got married in beautiful Berkeley, CA. The ceremony was beautiful. She looked gorgeous! The reception was in a charming hotel and was so fun! My sister, Cami, was great to pick me up from teh airport and go as my date. Since I have been married, I really love going to weddings and listening to the ceremonies. They remind me that I have things to continually work on but that marriage is such a wonderful thing! Thanks Leslie for sharing! The place settings were beautiful. The little goody bags had almonds, mangos, and chocolate chips- YUM!The lucky groom! The beautiful bride!

Two friends.

Rib Fest 2009

During the weekend of the 4th of July, Naperville has its Annual Rib Fest. Brad and I were really excited to go........until we got there. It was a lame county fair. However, there were excellent ribs.
The ribs were delicious. Brad has always been a fan of ribs, but I've never had good ones like this before. So now I'm a fan. Oh, I almost forgot- we also saw a ridiculously awesome magic show! Notice the assistant. She posed like that the whole time!On the actual 4th of July, we went over to Brent's house. Our cousins, Doug, Heather, and their kids came in from the city too. We had a bbq and then did fire works out front. Actually the ones Brent bought were more like "smoke works." I think Brent was kind of disappointed. But, we were thoroughly entertained. The kids had a lot of fun riding bikes, playing with snappers, and jumping through the mass amounts of smoke. It was a great day!
